Biography

Tunde is a barrister at Doughty Street Chambers. He is a committed defender who has an impressive practice for his level of call. His comprehensive practice comprises of General Crime, Serious Crime and Extradition as well as appellate work in the Court of Appeal and the Administrative Court. All of Tunde''s work encompasses an element of Human Rights and commitment to issues of social justice and civil liberties.

Tunde recently won the 'Young Lawyer of the Year Award 2012' at the 2012 Lawyer Monthly Barrister Awards. To read the full article about Tunde in the Lawyer Monthly, please click here.

Recent briefs have included murder, aggravated burglary, armed robbery, drugs importations and robberies. He is regularly instructed in cases involving Trident investigations of gang crime and firearms related violence as well as multi-handed robberies. He is currently instructed in two allegedly gang related London murder.

Tunde is currently instructed to act for a number of people alleged to have been involved in the London riots as well as the student protests in Parliament square.

Tunde is also an advisor on The Citizens Inquiry into the Tottenham Riots.

Tunde was part of a delegation sent out by the Bar Human Rights Committee in partnership with UNICEF in Nigeria. The project aims to enhance the capacity of the Child Protection Network (CPN) set up across different states in Nigeria. This is achieved though conducting human rights monitoring and documentation, with a particular focus on case management, interviewing and taking statements from children. The project also works by engaging regional and international mechanisms of redress. Tunde delivered training on the aforesaid issues to legal practitioners, social workers and government ministers.
