Matthew is competition specialist who has detailed competition and regulatory law experience (both in-house and in private practice) - advising on behavioural and transactional matters in a variety of sectors. Matthew has counselled clients on compliance with the competition rules in respect of a wide range of commercial arrangements and has represented major international companies in relation to investigations before the European Commission. He has also advised extensively on the EU and UK competition law aspects of international mergers – including filings before the European Commission and the UK competition authorities. Matthew joined from BSkyB where he was a Senior Legal Adviser in the Regulatory & Competition team. Prior to BSkyB, Matthew worked in private practice, the majority of that time with Hogan Lovells in Brussels and later (as a senior associate) in London.
