John Michael Schmidt
John is dual qualified in the UK and Germany. He has experience in dealing with competition authorities at both national and EU level and advising in major UK and EU competition investigations and antitrust litigation. John also has experience of major domestic and cross border mergers and joint ventures in a variety of sectors and has particular industry experience in fast moving consumer goods, financial services, pharmaceuticals and life sciences. John also regularly advises both public sector and industry clients on public procurement and state aid matters.
John has consistently been ranked as a leading competition law expert by Chambers UK, Legal 500 UK and Chambers Global over the past ten years. In 2014 his team won the coveted Lawyer Competition Team of the Year award and he was a finalist for this same award in 2015 and 2016.
