James Hall specialises in professional negligence, property litigation and commercial litigation, with a particular emphasis on financial services-related cases. He has been published as a contributor to texts on mortgage-related property issues and professional indemnity insurance issues, and as an author of various articles on professional negligence arising out of property and financial transactions. He is ranked by both Chambers UK Bar and Legal 500 as a Leading Junior in the field of professional negligence. He has also had the advantage of a 4 year stint working as an employed barrister in an international law firm, dealing with mortgage and insurance-related litigation including title rectification, professional negligence, mortgage fraud and insurance fraud. His reported cases include Commercial First Business Limited v Munday [2014] EWCA 1296 and Freemont (Denbigh) Limited v Knight Frank LLP [2014] EWHC 3347 (Ch).
