Charles is a chartered accountant with 40 years' experience of the insurance industry. He is currently a Director in BDO's financial services practice, where he provides advice to the firm's insurance and other financial services clients around the embedding of corporate governance and risk management in the business and regulatory compliance. He trained at Ernst & Young and then between 1990 and 2010 held a number of executive appointments in insurance including as finance director of a Lloyd's broking group, executive director of a quoted Lloyd's corporate capital vehicle, finance director of Lloyd's managing agent and managing director of an insurance accounting provider.
