Andrew Norton, QC

Andrew practises in both Family Law and Court of Protection cases. He is also a trained mediator.

Within private law proceedings he acts for parents and other adults involved in difficult disputes relating to children. He frequently represents children acting through their court appointed Guardian.

Within public law proceedings he represents local authorities, particularly in cases where serious life threatening injuries have occured. He regularly conducts fact finding hearings involving complex medical issues.

He advises local authorities on placement of children overseas, adoptions with international elements and frequently receives instructions involving either child abduction or concerns over Forced Marriage.

He frequently receives instruction from the Official Solicitor and Local Authorities engaged in disputes relating to Deprivation of Liberty.

Andrew is a regular speaker. He also writes and runs training events for local authorities on key Public Law Issues.
