The Urgent Issues Task Force (UITF) assists the Accounting Standards Board (ASB) by investigating areas where conflicts or unsatisfactory interpretation of an accounting standard or Companies Act provision exists or may develop in the future. The UITF reaches a consensus on these particular issues and publishes them in the form of UITF Abstracts to guide the preparation of financial statements.
