1 Title, application and commencement

(1)    The title of these Regulations is the Zoonoses and Animal By-Product (Fees) (Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2010.

(2)    They apply in relation to Wales.

(3)    They come into force on 13 August 2010.

2 Amendment

2Amendment

(1)    The Zoonoses and Animal By-Products (Fees) (Wales) Regulations 2008 are amended in accordance with the paragraph (2) of this regulation.

(2)    In regulation 2 (Interpretation) within the definition of “official control samples”—

(i)    omit “or” at the end of paragraph (b);

(ii)    omit the full stop of the end of paragraph (c) and substitute “; or”;

(iii)    after paragraph (c) insert—

“(d)    point 1(b)(iii) of the Annex to Commission Regulation (EC) No 584/2008 implementing Regulation 2160/2003 as regards a Community target for the reduction of the prevalence of certain salmonella serotypes in turkeys, as amended from time to time.”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations, which apply in relation to Wales, amend the Zoonoses and Animal By-Products (Fees) (Wales) Regulations 2008 (SI 2008/2716) (W 245). They make provision for the Welsh Ministers to charge fees for taking or supervising the taking of official samples and conducting testing required under Commission Regulation (EC) No 584/2008 (OJ No L 162, 21.6.2008, p 3).
