1 Title and commencement

This Order—

(a)    may be cited as the Veterinary Surgery (Artificial Insemination) (Amendment) Order 2007; and

(b)    comes into force on 13th July 2007.

2Amendments to the Veterinary Surgery (Artificial Insemination) Order 2007

(1)    The Veterinary Surgery (Artificial Insemination) Order 2007 is amended as follows.

(2)    For article 1(1)(b) substitute—

“(b)    applies in the United Kingdom save for Part 2 which applies in England and Scotland only; and”.

(3)    In article 3(2)(b) omit “, the Scottish Ministers”.

(4)    In article 8(1)(a)(i) for “and” substitute “or”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the Order)

This Order applies Part 2 (artificial insemination of cows) of the Veterinary Surgery (Artificial Insemination) Order 2007 (SI 2007/1315) to Scotland. It removes the Scottish Ministers from the list of persons who may approve training courses in the artificial insemination of cows and makes one other minor amendment.

A full regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
