European Union - Reference to European Court - Reference for preliminary ruling - Construction company with contracts in several member states employing K - K only required to go to two member states - Whether person under successive employment contracts stating place of employment as territory of several member states working during term contracts only in one state falling within concept of 'a person normally employed in the territory of two or more member states' - Council Regulation (EEC) 1408/71, art 14(2)(b).

The Case

European Union Reference to European Court. The Court of Justice of the European Union ruled on the interpretation of art 14(2)(b) of Council Directive (EC) 1408-71 as amended and updated by Council Regulation (EC) No 118-97 (on the application of social security schemes to employed persons, to self-employed persons and to members of their families moving within the Community,) in the context of a worker who had worked over a period of time in two member states.
