The Case

Contract Breach. The Chancery Division of the High Court held that there was no contract between the claimant and the defendant newspaper company in respect of sale of information obtained by the claimant regarding a premiership football player. Further s 45(1) of the Copyright Design and Patents Act 1988 provided a complete answer to any claims brought by the claimant regarding breach of copyright.
