Local authority Adoption proceedings. The Administrative Court held, dismissing the instant judicial review, that the date at which the claimant's child, J, was 'placed for adoption', within the meaning of s24(2) of the was 17 August 2009 when all the relevant legal formalities had been concluded and the so-called 'introductions process' began. On that basis, the claimant's attempt to revoke the adoption came too late; the lawfulness or otherwise of the decision to allow J to take up permanent residence with the prospective adopters on 24 August could not be called into question.
