Employment tribunal - Procedure - Complaint of unequal pay - Presentation of complaint to employment tribunal - Requirement for employees to lodge 'step 1 statement of grievance' to employers before complaining to tribunal - Whether employees complying with statutory requirements - Employment Act 2002, s 32(2), Sch 2, para 6.
In the instant case, the court confirmed that the requirements for a 'step 1 statement of a grievance' under para6 of Sch 2 to the was minimal, in setting aside an employment judge's decision, striking out the employees' equal pay claims, on the basis that they had not properly presented their grievances before complaining to the employment tribunal.
