Sentence - Imprisonment - Length of sentence - Escape - Whether sentence manifestly excessive.
Sentence Imprisonment. The appeal of the defendant, who had pleaded guilty to escaping from prison, against a sentence of nine months' imprisonment to be served consecutively to the sentence of two years' imprisonment which he was already serving, would be dismissed. In the circumstances, there could be no criticism of the length of the sentence.
