Sentence - Custodial sentence - Length of sentence - Totality of sentences amounting to five years' imprisonment - Whether totality of sentences excessive.
Sentence Custodial sentence. The total sentence of five years' imprisonment, minus time spent on remand, imposed on the defendant in respect of his guilty pleas in respect of counts of bigamy, possession of a prohibited weapon, obtaining property by deception, evasion of liability by deception and failure to notify his address and failure to comply with notification requirements, was not excessive. The sentencing judge had been entirely right in his approach and there was no basis for interfering with the sentences imposed on him.
