Sentence - Custodial sentence - Buggery - Indecent assault on a male - Whether sentence manifestly excessive.
Sentence Custodial sentence. The totality of the defendant's sentence of 14 years' imprisonment imposed upon his conviction for offences of buggery and indecent assault of a male could not be described as manifestly excessive in the light of the defendant's age, physical and mental health, and previous good character in circumstances where the offences had caused an enormous amount of harm and had taken place when the defendant had been in a position of trust in relation to the victims, and where the defendant had continued to deny his guilt.
