Family proceedings - Orders in family proceedings - Contact order - Allegation of serious domestic violence by father - Whether judge correct to refuse father's application for direct contact and order for direct contact - Whether judge correct to prohibit further application for direct contact without leave of court for three years.
In the instant case, where the father had only recently taken responsibility for a very serious violent assault on the mother, and where he had not had any contact with his two children for over seven years, the judge's rejection of the father's application for direct contact; his order for indirect contact by way of cards, and his order that the father make no further applications for direct contact without the leave of the court for three years had been appropriate in every respect.
