European Community - Equality of treatment of men and women - Equal pay for equal work - Pay - Women employees of local authority held to undertake work comparable with certain male employees of authority - Women employees being re-employed by defendant private contractors - Whether women employees still able to hold their work as comparable with certain male employees of authority - Article 141 EC.
Where differences identified in the pay of workers performing equal work, or work of equal value, could not be attributed to a single source, there was no body which was responsible for the inequality and which could restore equal treatment. Such a situation could not come within art141 EC (formerly EC Treaty, art119).
