Discrimination - Discrimination on grounds of race - Damages - Damages for injury to feelings - Aggravated damages - Whether figure employment tribunal awarding in respect of damages appropriate.
Where an employment tribunal had allowed an employee's complaint of race discrimination by an employer, there had been an element of double counting in respect of the sums awarded to the employee for injury to feelings and as aggravated damages and justice to the case would be done by reducing the total awarded under those headings.
