Sentencing - Custodial sentence - Duration - Mandatory sentence - Mitigation - (Sentencing) Act 2000, ss 111 and 152.
The defendant's sentence of three years' detention for offences of burglary was inappropriate in circumstances where the judge had wrongly thought that he was limited to passing the statutory minimum sentence, pursuant to s111 of the having failed to consider s152 of the same act.
