Sentencing - Disqualification from driving - Duration - Dealing in chargeable goods where the duty had not been paid.
Where a defendant had pleaded guilty to two charges of dealing in chargeable goods where the duty had not been paid, a judge had been right to use his power under s44 of the to disqualify the defendant from driving. However, he had given no reason for imposing a five-year period of disqualification, and, in the circumstances of the case, the period of disqualification would be reduced to three years.
