Sentencing - Custodial sentence - Duration - Obtaining property by deception - Having a false instrument.
Where the defendant pleaded guilty to five counts of obtaining property by deception, namely 9,784 of benefit moneys, and to two counts of having a false instrument contrary to s5 of the it was held that in the circumstances the total sentence imposed of 15 months' imprisonment was excessive, and that a total of ten months' imprisonment was the appropriate sentence.
