The court gave guidance as to the quantum of damages to be awarded under s8 of the and in the instant case, which concerned the failure by a local authority to provide accommodation, in breach of art8 of the European Convention on Human Rights, held that a useful comparator could be found in awards made by ombudsmen in maladministration cases.
