The claimant's challenge to a decision by the defendant that, in order to benefit from an ex gratia scheme set up to compensate British groups interned by the Japanese in the Second World War, a civilian had to be a British subject who was born in the United kingdom or whose parent or grandparent had been born in the United Kingdom, failed.
