Criminal evidence and procedure - Appeal - Grounds of appeal - Reference by Criminal Cases Review Commission - Defendant not restricted to advancing ground which had not been a basis for reference - s 14(5).
Section14(5) of the permitted a defendant whose case had been referred to the Court of Appeal, Criminal Division by the Criminal Cases Review Commission to put forward any ground of appeal that arose from the original trial whether or not it was a basis on which the CCRC had referred the matter to the court.
