Sentencing - Plea of guilty - Discount for guilty plea - No statement in open court that credit given for guilty plea - Length of sentence.
The defendant's sentence of three and a half years' imprisonment for an offence of theft and an offence of loitering without reasonable cause, contrary to bylaw 3(24) of the Heathrow Airport Lands Bylaws 1996, was manifestly excessive because the judge had not given the defendant sufficient credit for his guilty plea in the circumstances.
