On an appeal against a decision of the employment tribunal that the employer had discriminated against the respondent on the basis, firstly, of her sex and, secondly, of her marital status, the Employment Appeal Tribunal ruled that the tribunal had erred in making its decision and accordingly remitted the matter to a fresh tribunal for rehearing.
