A defendant's voluntary confession about his having committed indecent assaults, the fact that he had ceased those assaults of his own accord, and the attitude of the victim and her family amounted, in all the circumstances of the case, to exceptional reasons for the purposes of s118(4)(b) of the for suspending a sentence of imprisonment.
