In an action for damages where the defendant, a structural engineer, had negligently prepared a pre-purchase report, and the claimants had subsequently purchased a property and suffered considerable loss arising from structural deficiencies in the property, it was held on the evidence that the claimants had relied on the defendant's report in purchasing the property, and were entitled to damages.
