Employment - Discrimination - Discrimination against a woman - Employee offered alternative position on return from maternity leave - Employee's annual bonus significantly reduced following decline in markets - Tribunal rejecting employee's claim of discrimination on grounds of sex - Whether alternative employment suitable - Whether tribunal in error.
On an appeal from a decision of an employment tribunal that the appellant had not been discriminated against on grounds of sex, after an offer of an alternative position by her employer, on her return from maternity leave, the Employment Appeal Tribunal held that the tribunal had been entitled to reach the factual conclusions that it had. Accordingly, the appellant's appeal was dismissed.
