Sentencing - Manslaughter - Aggravating and mitigating factors - Whether sentence manifestly excessive.
Where the defendant, who was 19 at the time of the offence, pleaded guilty to manslaughter after having killed his brother by stamping on his stomach in the course of a fight, it was held that a sentence of five years' detention in a young offender institution was excessively high, and would be reduced to one of four years' detention.
