The Case

The Court of Appeal indicated that the appropriate determinate sentence in circumstances where a defendant had pleaded guilty to two offences of rape on a 92-year-old woman, one of burglary and one of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm, was one of 16 years' imprisonment.
