Sentencing - Indecent assault on a male - Indecent assault on a female - Aggravating and mitigating factors - Whether sentence unduly lenient.
Where a 51-year-old was convicted on ten counts of indecent assault on a male and one count of indecent assault on a female, arising from a number of sexual assaults on children over a four year period, it was held that a total sentence of five years' imprisonment with an extended licence period of three years was unduly lenient, and an extended sentence of ten years, comprising a custodial element of eight years' imprisonment would be imposed.
