Mackenna Roberts

Biography

MacKenna is a life sciences regulatory and IP litigation lawyer who has worked in private practice, academia, healthcare consultancy and, most recently, in-house as the General Counsel and Data Protection Officer to a telemedicine company. MacKenna trained and practiced as a commercial litigator at a London top 50 IP litigation practice where she was involved with several high-profile cases. She then trained in the life sciences at Denoon Legal Ltd, a London specialist practice which has since joined Bristows. 

She has many years of experience as a strategic adviser on the translation from lab to market of medical innovation focusing on emerging biotechnologies in regenerative medicine (cell and gene therapies/tissue engineering), genetic testing, and immunotherapy. She has published widely on the regulation of and access to advanced therapies at the frontiers of medicine and regularly provides legal workshops to life sciences start-ups. MacKenna holds a masters in Medical Law and Ethics from King’s College London.
