David Glen

David has a broad practice encompassing all aspects of media and information law. He consistently acts for leading firms of solicitors in the field and on behalf of a large number of the most prominent media organisations and companies, including the BBC, Guardian News & Media, Associated Newspapers, Times Newspapers and Google.

His recent work has seen him appear in a number of high profile defamation and privacy actions, while he also holds a substantial wider practice in the fields of both public law (where he has acted for the media regulator, Ofcom) and information law (including in cases heard before both the Information Tribunal and the Upper Tribunal).

David represented the Guardian at the Leveson Inquiry into press conduct (having previously acted on behalf of the BBC during the Hutton Inquiry) and has been appointed to act as one of the Independent Scheme Barristers currently representing applicants bringing claims in News International's Voicemail Interception Compensation Scheme. He also frequently advises major publishing houses on pre-publication issues, particularly in relation to contentious sporting and celebrity autobiographies and biographies.
