Dean Peter Dunham


Dean Dunham is an arbitrator, barrister and solicitor–advocate with in excess of 20 years’ experience.

Dean is widely regarded as one of the leading authorities on consumer law, appearing in the Thomson Reuters Superlayers list, the Legal 500 and being named ‘Consumer Lawyer of the Year 2018 and 2019’.

Dean has a particular expertise in the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and all other consumer laws; and EC261, EC1107 and the Montreal Convention.

Dean is widely experienced in alternative dispute resolution, having served as the Chief Ombudsman of the Retail Ombudsman and Chief Adjudicator of RetailADR and AviationADR, the official ADR scheme approved, by the Civil Aviation Authority, to deal with consumer and airline disputes. 

Dean is also an experienced arbitrator and has written in excess of 500 awards under the ABTA and Consumer Arbitration schemes.

Dean is one of the best–known commentators on consumer law in the media. In this respect he is the consumer law columnist for the Daily Express and Sunday People and is the commentator for the Mirror online. He also co–hosts a consumer law radio show on LBC radio every Sunday.
