Ulrike Naumann

Partner and Head of Finance, Bowmans

Ulrike Naumann is the head of finance in the banking and finance department at Bowman Gilfillan in South Africa. Ulrike obtained her BCom and LLB degrees (both cum laude) from the University of Stellenbosch before undertaking further studies at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands. She then worked at the Max Planck Institute for International and Foreign Private Law in Hamburg as a research assistant, before reading for her BCL degree at the University of Oxford. Ulrike worked at a financial institution in the City of London before returning to South Africa in 2006 to join a large law firm where she was part of the banking and finance team before joining Bowman Gilfillan.

Ulrike has considerable experience of acting for lenders, borrowers and financial advisers in relation to the full range of finance transactions, with an emphasis on cross-border acquisition finance, complicated debt restructuring, secured and syndicated lending, structured finance and preference share funding transactions. Ulrike also has significant experience in capital markets transactions in the South African and offshore markets, and she advises on fund formation and other private equity-related work.

Ulrike has worked and lived in South Africa, England and Germany.
