Sophie Lamb is a partner in Latham and Watkins international dispute resolution group. Her practice focuses on complex litigation, commercial and investment treaty arbitration and public international law. She has represented clients across sectors as diverse as energy, mining, life sciences, telecommunications/converged media, private equity, investment banking and automotive in disputes arising out of M&A, joint venture, shareholder, financial services, foreign investment and technology licensing activities, among many others.
Sophie has acted as adviser and/or advocate in over one hundred international arbitrations. Her diverse international caseload has included arbitrations sited in Europe, Asia and the U.S., subject to a wide variety of applicable laws and international treaties, including LCIA, ICC, SCC, UNCITRAL, ICSID, WIPO, AAA, VIAC and Swiss Rules. She also sits as arbitrator, most recently in Gazprom v. Lithuania, and is a panelist for both Sports Resolutions in the UK and the World Intellectual Property Organization. She has full rights of audience in the English courts and has appeared as counsel at every level, including most recently in the UK Supreme Court.
