Silvana heads the Commercial Law department at Chetcuti Cauchi Advocates, a leading Maltese law firm specializing in the fields of financial services, tax law, trusts and estate planning, real estate law, expatriate law, ICT law and intellectual property law. Silvana is a prime civil lawyer specializing in civil and commercial matters, real estate and property law including conveyance, leasing, as well as all other transactions dealing with estate management and inheritance law. Silvana is recognized for her in-depth experience in real estate administration and for her handling of sophisticated domestic and international transactions including the attainment and management of financing. Specializing in ICT law, she is also the adviser to a number of well established ICT companies which she assists with all legal aspects concerning website development and operation; drafting and application of software contracts; licensing of rights and transfer of technology. Specifically in the context of i-Gaming and having practised in the online gaming sector since its inception in Malta in 2004, Silvana'a practice mainly focuses on assisting clients with business start-ups requiring a license for their operation. Working closely with the regulatory authorities in Malta, her role involves providing tailor-made advice for the attainment and maintenance of licenses, referring to the specific operations of the client. On the attainment of a license, she provides ongoing legal support to clients in making sure that all requirements relating to their licensed operations are adhered to. Silvana's other main practice areas are Maritime and Aviation. She has been involved in numerous transactions involving the registration of vessels under the Maltese flag, transfer of vessel ownership, ship/aircraft finance and registration of mortgages.
