Sian is a Director in the Privacy and Information Law Group of Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP, having worked previously at the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). She is a data protection and freedom of information expert and advises clients on a range of data protection and freedom of information issues.

Sian has considerable experience of dealing with international data protection issues and has an unrivalled level of knowledge of Binding Corporate Rules (BCR) as a basis for legitimising international data transfers.

Much of Sian’s work involves providing advice to clients about international data transfers and over the past four years Sian has advised clients on a number of BCR applications (which have either received an authorisation or which are at an advanced stage in the process). Sian speaks regularly on data protection issues and, in particular on BCRs, and delivers training on both the DPA and freedom of information.
