Biography

Shona qualified as a solicitor in 1982 with Farrer & Co. She joined the commercial property department at Ashurst Morris Crisp in 1985, becoming a senior associate in 1989.

At Ashurst, Shona undertook a broad range of commercial property work for a mix of clients, including institutional investors, major corporate occupiers and public-sector bodies. She was involved in various schemes acting for the London Docklands Development Corporation and for the developer in relation to Enterprise Zone Trusts in Chatham and Birmingham. She was also involved with a number of high-profile regeneration projects acting for the land-owning London borough promoting the scheme. Shona was a member of the Ashurst training committee and was responsible for managing the delivery of training to the commercial property department.

Shona joined Trowers & Hamlins as a partner in the commercial property section in 1998. While at Trowers, Shona specialised in public/private-sector regeneration projects and also secured and managed the provision of corporate support work to the London office of a major US law firm. She was the chair of the Trowers training committee and was the partner in charge of the firms PSLs.

Shona joined the College of Law in January 2007 as head of the real estate professional development practice, becoming an associate professor in November 2008.
