Sheamal Samarasekera

Sheamal Samarasekera is a solicitor in the Macfarlanes' pensions group. He advises trustees and employers on both contentious and non-contentious pension issues. Sheamal has particular experience of advising on pensions in the context of corporate restructurings and transactions, including management of section 75 debts and advising on the powers of the UK Pensions Regulator. His recent experience includes advising on a number of acquisitions involving the use of flexible apportionment arrangements, the merger and closure of occupational final salary pension schemes and auto-enrolment duties.
