Biography

Sarah Lewis is a barrister at 18 Red Lion Court. Sarah has an established criminal practice and is generally instructed in matters typically above her call including multi-handed robbery and drugs conspiracy cases. Her practice encompasses both defence and prosecution work across the whole spectrum of criminal law including violence, public disorder, weapons, drugs, fraud, sexual offences, child pornography, general dishonesty and driving matters. She regularly appears in the Crown Courts of London and the South East, including as a led junior, and has enjoyed success in the Court of Appeal.

Sarah prides herself on her thorough preparation, client care, currency of legal knowledge and assertiveness in court.

Sarah spent 2 months in Jamaica in 2010 volunteering at the Independent Jamaican Council for Human Rights. She acted as an informal junior, assisting with the preparation of a double murder trial and successfully petitioned the Governor General on behalf of a former death row inmate now serving life imprisonment with regard to his parole eligibility.

Sarah also accepts instructions in quasi-criminal matters including health and safety, inquests, extradition hearings, parole hearings and prison adjudications.
