Biography

Peter Crockford was articled at Clintons. On qualification he joined the Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders as Legal Adviser. He developed the motor industry campaign against counterfeiting and took a major role in the implementation of the various block exemptions on vehicle distribution. In 1985 he became legal adviser and anti-piracy co-ordinator for IFPI, the international record industry federation, with particular responsibility for piracy actions and campaigns in Europe and Africa. During this time he drafted amendments to the copyright laws of a number of African countries. In January 1989 he joined Titmuss Sainer – now Dechert LLP – and was made a partner later that year. He later headed their Commercial Unit.
