Nishant Choudhary is an Indian Qualified lawyer and is presently working as senior associate at VDB Loi’s Yangon, Myanmar office. He primarily specialises in banking and finance and competition laws. Prior to joining VDB Loi, Nishant has worked in India on number of contentious and non-contentious competition law issues. He was part of the team representing UntraTech Cement in the Indian Cement Cartel matter before CCI, New Delhi. At VDB Loi, he has advised on number of financial matters and was a senior member of the team that assisted Pan Asia Towers with its US$85M non-recourse financing of tower assets in Myanmar. He has also assisted several lenders with obtaining approvals for foreign loans from the Central Bank of Myanmar and Myanmar Investment Commission. In addition, he is in a senior position with the team that is assisting Ooredoo Myanmar with its convertible loan facility, including drafting the loan and corporate documentation and securing regulatory approvals. Nishant is also senior member of the team advising IFC as local counsel on a major confidential transaction in Myanmar and EU DFI’s (European Investment Bank (EIB), FMO, DEG, Proparco, CDC, OEeB) on financing and investment transactions in the telecommunication and financial services sectors.
