Biography

Nick Andrews is a partner in Grant Thornton's forensic and investigation services department, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, an Accredited Member of the Academy of Experts, a Designated Valuer and a member of Grant Thornton's review panel. He was previously a forensic partner at a 'big four' firm for 14 years, where he headed the dispute advisory practice and regularly acted as an expert witness in the High Court and in arbitrations.

Nick specialises in dispute work. He has acted as an expert accountant in over 200 cases, in market sectors including oil and gas, shipping, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, retail, IT and high technology, food and drink, finance, rail, contracting and construction and has given oral evidence on 15 occasions. Nick also has considerable experience of corporate acquisitions, including advising clients in completion accounts and warranty disputes. He has frequently been appointed as the Independent Expert responsible for determining issues between two parties in both transaction and non-transaction related disputes. He is mentioned as one of the leading practitioners in the standard legal work on expert determinations.
