Biography

Melanie Ball, an associate in the Financial Institution Regulatory practice, is a member of the European Litigation Group.

Melanie specialises in advisory and contentious work for financial institutions with particular emphasis on:

  • Advisory work: supervisory inquiries, strategic advice, new business set-up, new product structuring, compliance systems, manuals and processes, conduct of business advice, internal investigations, training and preparation for regulatory visits/interviews, corporate transaction support and commercial and employment advice.
  • Contentious work: exchange and regulatory investigations, enforcement cases, financial services disputes, employment disputes and general commercial litigation.
  • Prior to joining Orrick in 2012, Melanie worked in an advisory role at Morgan Stanley and was a solicitor at DLA Piper UK LLP.
