As an associate in Hogan Lovells Trade and Investment Group, Jorge Torres focuses his practice in EU and international trade law. He has seasoned experience in trade policy, particularly in the application of trade defence measures, the negotiation of free trade agreements, and the interpretation of WTO rules. Additionally, Jorge's work covers related areas such as EU export controls and economic sanctions, as well as customs issues. He recently worked on a number of matters in the life sciences and energy sectors.
Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Jorge was a trainee at the unit responsible for the implementation of antitrust rules in the financial sector at the European Commission's Directorate-General for Competition. Additionally, he worked as a trainee at the Directorate of the Energy Charter Secretariat on various energy-related trade and investment issues and the Trade Commission of the Spanish Embassy in Morocco.
EducationJorge holds a law degree from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and an LL.M from Vrije Universiteit Brussels.
