Jason joined Rouse Patents in January 2012 from Pfizer, where he was head of their UK patent department.
He started his career as a patent attorney with Boots in 1997, before moving in 1999 to join the patent department at Pfizer, the world's largest pharmaceutical company. In his time there Jason supported all aspects of the business, including its R&D function, human pharmaceuticals division, the animal health division and the generics medicine business, as well as engaging heavily with commercial and litigation teams.
Well versed in global patent drafting and prosecution practice, Jason has had deep involvement in all aspects of working with the EPO, from prosecution, opposition, appeal and oral proceedings to post-grant amendment. He is experienced in providing pragmatic freedom to operate advice on commercial products. He has particular expertise in the review and commercial exploitation of patent portfolios, licensing due diligence and the IP aspects of R&D collaborations. His detailed knowledge of pharma R&D has led to a focus on working with, supporting and advising SMEs in the life sciences area.
