Jack Wang

Jack leads the KWM Banking & Finance practice in China. Drawing on more than 25 years of local and international experience in banking & finance, he helps clients address their needs in international finance, project finance, foreign direct investment, and mergers and acquisitions.

Jack has acted on numerous cross-border transactions providing advice on general banking issues, bilateral financing, syndicated loans, financial derivative instruments, trade financing, and structured financing in mergers & acquisitions. Clients have also relied on Jack for advice on incorporation and acquisition of financial institutions, NPL dispositions, online purchase technologies, debt restructuring and the issuance of bonds.

Jack's constant focus is on understanding of his clients' business and on finding the right solution for them. Having practiced for many years, he has enjoyed working with companies in a variety of industry sectors, including real estate, energy & resources, infrastructure and industrials.

Jack is a recognised market leader, and is ranked as a Leading Individual by Chambers Asia Pacific Guide 2016, and as one of the world's leading banking lawyers by IFLR1000, Chambers & Partners, Who's Who Legal and Expert Guides.

Prior to joining King & Wood Mallesons in 2003, Jack was in charge of the Department of International Finance, at the Global Law Office in Beijing. He has also worked in the New York office of Sherman & Sterling and in the Hong Kong office of Linklaters. He is proficient in Chinese and English.
